AgriGrowth Statement on 2018 Farm Bill
Minnesota’s leading Agri-Business member association applauds House and Senate negotiators for their diligent work to complete a bill before the end of 2018
St. Paul, MN – Minnesota AgriGrowth applauds the United State House and Senate Agriculture Committee negotiators on their tentative agreement to complete a Farm Bill before the end of 2018.
“AgriGrowth and our members are pleased to hear that the House and Senate Farm Bill negotiators have ‘reached an agreement in principle’, and we eagerly look forward to seeing the details once the final finishes are made to the bill,” said Gene Hugoson, interim Executive Director for AgriGrowth. “It has been a tough few years for our farmers and food processors, and completing the Farm Bill would demonstrate that policy makers in Washington understand the struggles our industry has been under and they are making changes to help our providers.” Hugoson concluded.
Few specific details have been released about the agreement thus far. AgriGrowth will continue to monitor the progress of the farm bill and will be in contact with legislative staff as necessary prior to floor votes.
