Statement from Perry Aasness on MN health insurance premium relief and reform
Saint Paul – Governor Dayton signed a bill into law tonight that will provide health insurance premium relief for Minnesotans, along with several reforms for the insurance industry. In response, AgriGrowth Executive Director Perry Aasness released the following statement:
“We applaud the legislature and Governor Dayton for working quickly to find a compromise on providing immediate relief for Minnesotans facing rising health insurance premiums.
“In addition to providing rebates for people who buy insurance on the individual market, the new law signed today will allow agricultural co-operatives to offer health insurance plans to their members. This creative solution to the problem of rising health insurance costs will help Minnesota farmers purchase more affordable health insurance.
“Thank you to the legislative leaders and Governor Dayton for your swift action on this critical issue.”
