Dr. Mansharmani is a nationally renowned speaker, and in his address, The Global Economy: An Unconventional Outlook, he will apply a multi-lens approach to help understand the rapidly-changing global economy and the implications it has on Minnesota’s agriculture and food sectors.

The morning keynote address, Agricultural Sustainability in an Uncertain Season, sponsored by Gislason & Hunter, LLP, will be Dr. Margaret M. Zeigler, Executive Director of the Global Harvest Initiative (GHI). GHI is a collaborative private-sector voice to advance sustainable agriculture solutions for meeting the world’s growing demand for food, feed, fiber and fuel. Dr. Zeigler is a thought leader in the international agriculture and food security arena with expertise in international poverty alleviation, agricultural development, organizational leadership and program management. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Geography and International Development Studies from the University of Cincinnati.
The luncheon keynote speaker, sponsored by CHS, will be Carl Casale, president and CEO of CHS, a leading global agribusiness, diversified in energy, grains and foods, owned by farmers, ranches and cooperatives across the United States.
Dr. Robert Johansson, Chief Economist at the Department of Agriculture (USDA), will deliver remarks on the US agriculture economic outlook, sponsored by AgStar. Dr. Johansson is a Minnesota native, and he earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota.
